Urban Zakapa - Profile

Urban Zakapa (어반 자카파) is an indie acoustic jazz band from South Korea.

Urban Zakapa is an indie-jazz group consisting of three members; there is one female vocal and two male vocals. Urban Zakapa is one of those bands that can't to be missed out on as they leave a lasting impression on the audience with their musical endeavours.

Though the three vocalists carry distinctive qualities within their singing style, all are well suited for the jazz and R&B fusion Urban Zakapa embraces. As well as the recorded songs which provide a great musical experience, Urban Zakapa's live performances should be greatly appreciated. All the members exhibit strong musicality and stage presence. Brave Guys - Profile

(Disclaimer - I know Brave Guys is not an indie band, nor are they full-time music artistes, but they have REAL talent, and I really enjoy their songs. It is a pity not many people knew they released an album...)

Brave Guys started out as a segment on Gag Concert, only to gain increasing popularity with the general public as the progress on to charm them not only with their humour, but with their music as well. Although the songs created were meant to be parodies at first (ie I Don Care), they became hit songs, and this pushed the four-member team to fund a record of their own. With the release of their first (and last) album, AtoZ, Brave Guys left their impact on the Korean music industry, not as comedians, but as musicians.

Shin Bora

(17 March, 1987)

• Was once a member of three-membered gospel group, Heritage Mass Choir. She was with the group for four years, since 2007.
• Debuted as a comedienne in Gag Concert in 2010
• Has contributed to several OSTs, with the most recent one being "Crying with Longing" for Ghost (2012)

Park Sung Gwang

(15 August, 1981)

• Nicknamed as "The Bad Guy of Gag Concert" (lit.)
• Once acted in a drama : Acted as Kim Daesung in Poseidon (2011)
• Currently having the role of Kim representative in Gag Concert's frequent segment, "King of Viewership Ratings" --- he is real funny
• Is also the CEO of Park Sung Gwang Kimchi, his own kimchi company

Jung Taeho (Leader)

(31 March 1978)

• Debuted as a comedian in tvn's "Comedy X-1" in 2007
• Because of his late debut at his early 30s, he is older than a lot of his seniors
• Is the leader of the group because he is the oldest
• Is currently Mdm Jung in Gag Concert's frequent segment, "Mdm Jung"

Yang Seon Il

(22 February 1979)

• Debuted as a comedian on Gag Concert in 2007
• Was not one of the singing members in the original segment "Brave Guys", but was included in the album making and other songs
• Once obtained "Hot Gagman" award in 5th MNET 20's Choice
• Got married in October 2012

I really really really want them to come out with another album... Even if you are skeptical of them because they are comedians, do give them a shot and I promise you you will NOT be disappointed. And Shin Bora's vocals are not to be messed with. 

Standing Egg - Profile

The band is made up of three people, Egg 1, Egg 2, and Egg 3, who produce and compose the music. As they don't have a vocalist or musicians, they feature various guest indies artists like Clover (guitar, vocals), Windy (vocals), Han Gyul (double bass), or Hana (djembe) for their songs and performances.
